2012 Oregon Dental Conference
Winners of the Willamette Valley Wine Getaway Packages were Dr. Mike Biermann (Black Walnut Inn package), and Steve McNannay (Allison Inn & Spa package), and Dr. Dennis Simonson was the lucky winner of a wine tasting and tour for ten at Willamette Valley Vineyards.
The Tooth Fairy, Will Steele, and DFO board member Amy Benson, RDH drew the winning tickets from the raffle barrel at the Oregon Dental Conference where over six thousand people attended. Thanks to the generosity of many dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental related companies and others, we raised $15,430 for DFO programs like the Tooth Taxi.
Hundreds of bottles of wine were pulled from the Wall of Wine display. Debra Wong, pictured on the left with DFO staff member, Judy Edgerly, pulled the 1985 Chateau Gruaud-Larose Saint Julien, donated by Dr. Anthony Hoffman and valued at over $200.

DFO Recognizes Dental Volunteers and Friends
The Dental Foundation of Oregon was pleased to recognize a number of individuals and one organization for their outstanding volunteerism and support of children’s oral health at the Oregon Dental Conference.
Dr. Kurt Ferre and Erica Soto represented the Friends of Creston Children’s Dental Clinic which received a special Dental Champion award for their volunteers and board members who helped save the clinic from closing. Elisa Shofield, RDH was recognized as a Dental Champion for her volunteerism at the Salem Boys & Girls Club dental clinic, and Dr. James Goertz, DMD and his wife Elaine were recognized as Friends of the Foundation for their outstanding volunteerism on the Tooth Taxi during the past year. The awards were presented by DFO board president, Dr. Rick Asai, at the general session of the Oregon Dental Conference on Friday, April 13th. Congratulations award winners and thank you for all you do to help those less fortunate.
