|Gervais Elementary, June 27th-30th 2016 by Carrie Peterson
The Tooth Taxi kicked off its summer schedule with a return trip to Gervais Elementary. This was the first stop for our dentist Dr. Amanda Rice and assistant Itzel Magaña. They had a wonderful first patient in Samual. He was an incoming kindergartner who had five cavities. His sweet and cooperative demeanor allowed us to finish all of his treatment and set the tone for what turned out to be a terrific week.
We screened 38 children, 22 of which were return patients from previous years and are happy to report that we saw a slight decrease in the percentage of kids who had work to be done. In our 4 days at Gervais Elementary we were able to provide 18 appointments and $15,319 in dental care.
