#3 Aloha-Reedsville Elementary
January 20, 2015 by Carrie Peterson

It was a short week at Reedsville Elementary in Aloha due to the MLK Holiday on Monday so the Tooth Taxi Team jumped right in getting screenings done on Tuesday. The staff here was extremely helpful and well prepared for our arrival. This was my first trip out on the van with the team and we screened 47 patients!

One little girl, who was scheduled for an appointment, fell during recess. I was prepared for some hesitation when I went to go get her. I was instead met with her jumping up and down and waving goodbye to her friends, so excited that it was her turn to go out on the van.

Assistant, Catherine Johnson, also had the opportunity to give oral hygiene education to 38 receptive 1st and 2nd graders in the classroom. Overall it was a great week at a new school with beautiful weather. Thank you Reedville!

Other notes:
53% of students screened needed treatment
47% needed no treatment.
