#9 Milwaukie
February 24, 2014 by Mary Daly

Wet, rainy, and windy conditions while parked at Linwood Elementary School in Milwaukie. Kids were surprised and excited to be heading outside in the rain to visit the Tooth Taxi.  "We're going outside?"

The team was greeted by Principal Amy Busch, Secretary, Ann Nelson and Counselor, Theo Thompson. Staff was very helpful and they had volunteers on hand to help each day.  One volunteer told the students that she was the Tooth Fairy.  Kids waved hello when they saw us in the hallways and gave us high-fives. Linwood students were a positive and happy group.

Mid-week we had a call from Dental Health Coordinator, Marci Harston, about an uninsured student at another elementary school that was in pain with a toothache.  Dad was not working so he was able to fill out the paperwork and bring his son to the Tooth Taxi where Dr. Prates took care of him.  It is often about being in the right place at the right time, this time providing a convenient and immediate solution for the family.

From the kid gallery:
As Catherine took an x-ray: "I like this dentist better than the other one."

"This is a big house, it looks like a car."
