#3 Canby

January 21, 2014 by Mary Daly

Trost Elementary in Canby greeted the Tooth Taxi team with open arms.  They had lots of volunteers to help us and lots of kids to treat. OEA Board member, Tony Crawford, visited us for the first time and expressed his appreciation for our program.  With volunteers joining us for part of the week, kids were entertained by their humor and calm demeanor as they provided lots of dental care and a positive experience. New volunteer, Dr. Tamara Hald, was impressed with our program and was happy to be able to help us providing such a needed service.

Trost library received two Tooth Taxi library book packs in honor of former OEA President, Gail Rasmussen.

We also had a guest driver join us.  One of our young patients mentioned that he wanted to sit in the driver's seat, so Tooth Taxi staff brought him back to the van on Friday and let him sit behind the wheel. He was all smiles, the experience made his day.

From the kid gallery:
"I don't brush them a lot. My Mom usually makes me do it like on the weekends."

"I don't brush at all, I just use water and mouthwash."

A little girl raised her hand and said "it's really good not to lie to your Mom and tell her you brushed your teeth when you don't."

"You look like Barbie's" to Dr. Barichello and assistant Carrie Peterson.
