#2 Veneta
January 13, 2014 by Mary Daly

The Tooth Taxi returned to Veneta to follow up on our November, 2013 visit and we were welcomed with open arms.  Veneta Elementary has been a great site partner for us, very helpful staff and amazing kids. We were treated to coffee and muffins as a thank you for being back at the school.  Several times a student would hold open a door for us or wave hello.  Dr. Richardson was able to complete treatment on several patients from our November visit. A few parents joined us on the van while their children received care.  It was a great opportunity for them to see the value of what we do.  The week wrapped up with lots of hugs and hi-fives.

And from a Veneta Mom who called me last week to let me know she'd given us the wrong insurance information.  Mom expressed so much appreciation for all we'd done in terms of care.  She said it came at a great time for them; they've been in a tough spot for two years and have taken care of medical but not dental.  She was "blown away at that bill with the red line through it and a total of zero."

Other notes:
67% of students screened needed treatment
33% needed no treatment.
