#8 Aumsville Elementary
February 25, 2013 by Mary Daly

Three visits to Aumsville!  A break mid-week for ODA Dental Day at the Capitol and then after finishing up at Peninsula Elementary in Portland the team returned to Aumsville for three more days of work.

The first week was full of literary activities leading up to Read Across America Day.  Students guessed Dr. Seuss books based on excerpts read by the school secretary:  Wacky Foot Monday, Pajama Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, and School Pictures on Thursday, led up to Dr. Seuss Friday when students celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday.

School Nurse, Amber Gamel, accommodated the Tooth Taxi with excellent organization and a hospitality room with fresh fruit and snacks for the Tooth Taxi staff.  Cheryl Harmon, Admin to the Superintendent provided transportation for students from Cascade High School.

In March, the Tooth Taxi returned to Aumsville
to complete treatment on students that we screened and treated the previous week. A positive experience from last week resulted in students being ready and excited to return to
the Tooth Taxi for more work.  Treatment was completed for nine students during the three days we were in Aumsville this week. School Nurse, Amber Gamel, again treated us to snacks and fresh fruit. Everyone was appreciative of our service at the Tooth Taxi. Bus drivers, school administrators, teachers, and students all went out of their way to say thank you.

Superintendent, Darin Drill, and Principal, Leanne Deffenbaugh
