|#2 Woodburn Arts and Communication Academy
January 14, 2013 by Mary Daly
Parked outside Woodburn High School's WACA (Woodburn Arts and Communication Academy) we were surrounded by great student artwork and saw students rehearsing dance routines; adding a bit of culture to our week.
All the high school students are appreciative of getting their treatment completed. By having this return visit we were able to provide multiple appointments for students, where 15 had their dental treatment completed.
A patient after having a permanent molar extracted, returned to thank us for treating her. She brought all of us a pack a gum, as she explained - because we are dentists she didn't want to give us candy. She also gave each of us a stuffed animal; a monkey for Catherine, a lion for Jake and a cow for
Dr. Moffitt. A gift all our patients will enjoy!
Realities from the road:
Our message is being heard. When assistant Catherine was going over oral hygiene homecare with a patient she asked, Do you floss? The reply: "All the time now since I found out last time I have so many cavities."
3% of students screened needed treatment
97% needed no treatment.
