#18 Newberg

What does the Tooth Taxi need in addition to a dedicated staff?  Good brakes! The need for a brake repair shortened our service by a day at Edwards Elementary in Newberg.

All the students marched past the Tooth Taxi on their way to lunch as we were parked behind the cafeteria and music room. Teachers were very accommodating in sending their students out to the Tooth Taxi; they were grateful for our services and not hesitant that the student would be missing class.  A fourth grade class made original thank you cards colorfully drawn by students with clever sayings:

"Awesome Tooth Taxi makes your
teeth clean"
"Thank you so much Tooth Taxi"
"I [heart] Tooth Taxi!!"
"Tooth Taxi Smile, Smile"
"Tooth Taxi Rocks"
"Smile, it's your only hope"

Catherine Johnson's sons Richie and Kenny and the family dog Brutus

From the kid gallery:
"Did you know my grandpa broke his tooth!"

When Catherine suggested that the kindergartners remind their parents and siblings to brush their teeth too, one girl complained, "My brother copycats me when I brush my teeth!"

Other notes:
55% of students screened needed treatment
45% needed no treatment.
