Chip! Raises $56,595 for DFO
There is no truth to the rumor that the Chip! for Teeth Golf tournament is changing its name to the Monsoon Invitational, sponsored by FEMA. In spite of the driving rain and unseasonably cold weather a full field of 28 teams of golfers enjoyed the day on the course, and the BBQ luncheon sponsored by Regence Life & Health. The event was a great success helping us raise much needed funds for DFO programs like the Tooth Taxi.
The day started with early registration and breakfast, sponsored by Willamette Dental. Golfers warmed up (an oxymoron in the cold weather) at the Columbia Community Bank Driving Range, and teed off at 7:45 to rain blowing sideways down the fairway. But spirits remained high, thanks to the warm Coco and Schnapps delivered by DFO staff and volunteers to golfers and hole sponsors throughout the morning.
The team of Dr. Lane Harris, Matt Duvall, Bob Kumpula and Elias Mendez shot a blistering Low Gross of 58 to take home the tournament’s top prize.
Doug Pugh, Mike Bernatz and Kevin Joshi shot Low Net score of 54.
